Saw a guy at the comic shop try to argue that 'fan' just means you buy the new stuff.

He was holding a stack of the latest #1 issues and telling the clerk that real fans keep up with the current runs. I bought a beat up copy of 'Daredevil: Born Again' from the dollar bin while he talked. The whole thing felt off because being a fan is about the stories, not the receipts. How do you even start to explain that to someone?

Remember when I thought new meant better? That dollar bin find changed my whole view.

Yeah @tessap97, it's wild how often the cheap, old stuff outlasts the shiny new thing.

My grandma's 90s toaster still works like new. Meanwhile my fancy one broke in a year. Makes you wonder, right?
