Showerthought: My cousin's take on 'real' fandom bugs me.
He says only collectors who hunt for singles are true fans. I think enjoying stories any way you can is what counts, not how many boxes you have. Do we really need to judge each other's comic habits?

Get why your cousin says that, honestly. Hunting for singles shows you really care about the details. It's a different way to be a fan, that's all.

So what happens to the kid who checks trades out from the library over and over, but can't afford to hunt issues? Their passion isn't real because they're poor? That logic feels messed up.
