Serious question, is a hot water suit worth it or just a crutch for cold water jobs?
Had a guy named Dale tell me on a dock in Pascagoula that if you need hot water you picked the wrong dive company, and he's been doing this 22 years. But I did a job at 180 feet in 42 degree water and the hot water suit was the only reason I could keep my hands working. So which is it, does relying on hot water make you soft, or is refusing it just old school pride? What do you run on deep cold jobs?
