Shoutout to the sat diver who talked me out of a Kirby Morgan 37

After he told me he's seen three KM37 neck dams fail in a single season on a rig in the Gulf, I'm sticking with my old EXO-26 until it literally falls apart, anyone else have a brand loyalty story that got flipped by a real conversation?

Shit, that's a heavy one. Was the neck dam failure on the KM37 a complete blowout where the guy took on water fast, or was it more like a slow leak that gave him time to surface? I've heard the newer EXO neck dams are way more forgiving with rough handling and temperature swings, but I wonder if the KM37 failures are just from guys not rinsing the salt out of the rubber between dives, or if there's a real design flaw.

Yeah I heard the blowout stories too and suddenly my EXO felt like the prettiest girl at the dance. Now I treat my neck dam like it's made of tissue paper and I'm terrified to even look at it wrong during a dive. Guess I'll keep being that guy who rinses his gear like a maniac and prays every time he hits the water.
