Showerthought: Just hit my one-year mark on the job and I'm finally quick with my gear checks, but I still don't get why some dives leave me more tired than others.

It feels good to suit up without second-guessing, though I'm curious if water pressure plays a bigger role in fatigue than we think.

One year in and you're still blaming the water?

Tell that to the current ruby mentioned, it's putting in more effort than Scott's hot takes.

Scott's comment made me realize current strength gets overlooked. A strong pull can double your effort without you noticing. After a year, that's probably what's wearing you out, not just pressure.

That point about the current doubling your effort is so true. It's like trying to walk on a moving sidewalk going the wrong way. You're fighting just to stay in place, so of course you're wiped out after a full year of that. It's not about being weak, it's about a constant hidden drain on your energy. No wonder people burn out without knowing why.
