Used to think dry suit maintenance was overhyped until I got a pinhole leak at 50 feet off Catalina last summer
I always figured dry suit zipper care and valve checks were just gear nerds being extra. Then I took a 50 degree surge down my back during a bottom job at 50 feet off Catalina. Had to abort the dive, lost a full day of work, and the suit repair cost me $180. Now I actually rinse my zipper after every day and check the wrist seals before I splash. Who else learned the hard way?

$180 for a pinhole? That's brutal man.

Bro i did the math on this once and those $180 pinhole cameras use the same aluminum tubing you can get at Ace Hardware for like $3 a foot. The real cost is in the precision drilling and the light seal foam which is basically just weather stripping. What nobody talks about is how you can literally take a beer can, poke a hole in it with a needle, tape some foil over a piece of cardboard, and get the exact same image quality. The only difference is the $180 one looks cooler on your shelf.
