Warning: The visibility at the old Port Angeles dock site is nothing like it was five years ago.
I was back there last month for a hull inspection job, same spot I worked in 2019. Back then, you could get a good 15 feet of viz on a decent day. Now, you're lucky to see your hand at the end of your arm. It's a complete soup, all the time. The locals say it's from increased runoff and some new construction upriver stirring up the silt. It turns a simple 2-hour job into a full-day braille operation. Has anyone else had a regular site go from clear to zero viz that fast?

It's wild how fast a place can change like that. I've seen the same thing happen at a few local lakes, where a new housing development or a big storm just wrecks the clarity for good. Makes you wonder what else we're messing up without even noticing.

Check the ferry schedule now. The new high-speed ones churn the bottom way more than the old boats ever did.
