Changed my mind about checking the simple stuff first
I spent 4 hours on a laptop that wouldn't power on, only to find the AC adapter brick was unplugged from the wall. I was so sure it was a bad DC jack. Anyone else ever get tunnel vision on a repair?

Haha yeah that sound about right! I once swapped out a perfectly good motherboard on a desktop before realizing I'd just forgot to flip the PSU switch. @wood.jana is spot on about the fresh look thing, I now force myself to walk away and grab a coffee whenever I catch myself going in circles like that.

Tunnel vision on a repair" is the worst. I've learned to physically step away for a minute when I'm stuck. That fresh look almost always spots the obvious thing I missed.
