DAE remember using a boot floppy for every single Windows 98 repair?
I was cleaning out my old toolbox and found a stack of them, which got me thinking about how I used to rely on those for everything from virus scans to partitioning. Now I just keep a Ventoy USB with like 10 different ISOs, which is way faster and covers way more situations. What's the one old-school tool or method you were glad to finally stop carrying around?

My garage still has that old floppy smell, a real sign of how much simpler tech life is now.

Oh man, that brings back memories! I read a blog post recently about how those old boot disks were basically a lifeline. So glad we don't have to mess with that specific ritual anymore, what was your biggest relief to ditch?

Remember how a single bad sector on that one floppy could ruin your whole day? The real relief was ditching the physical fragility. No more worrying about magnets, heat, or that weird sticky note residue. The shift to solid state storage meant your entire system's ability to start up wasn't resting on a piece of plastic you could accidentally sit on.
