Had an epiphany at my uncle's farm in Ohio about my whole cable management approach
I was helping him run some Ethernet to a new shed and he just used zip ties straight through the joists. No velcro, no raceways, just tight bundles everywhere. It bugged me at first but after watching him trace a bad cable in like 30 seconds I realized all my fancy management is just making things harder to service. Any of you guys gone back to simpler methods just for the sake of speed?

Nothing beats the simple quick and dirty approach when you're actually working on stuff.

That part about tracing the bad cable in 30 seconds really hit home for me. I used to be the guy with the velcro straps and the label maker, thinking I was doing it right. But after helping a buddy rewire his garage I realized all that neat stuff just hides the mess when something goes wrong. Now I just use plain old zip ties and leave a little slack where it matters. It's not as pretty but I can find a bad connection in no time flat. Sometimes the simple way is the smart way.

Same here. Function over fashion every time once you actually have to fix something.
