I finally bought a $150 PSU tester and I can't tell if it was worth it
Been doing bench work for 11 months at a shop in Boise and I used to just swap a known-good PSU into every no-power build. That's 20 minutes of labor I wasn't billing. Bought a $150 Dr. Power II tester and now I get a yes or no in 15 seconds, but the shop owner says a $25 paperclip trick does the same thing for basic rails. Half the techs I know say cheap testers lie about ripple and load, the other half say you only need voltage. Where do you all land on this?
