Remember when you had to boot from a stack of floppies to image a drive?
Now I just use a Ventoy USB stick and it's done in 20 minutes. What's the fastest imaging method you guys are using these days?

Wait, you're still taking 20 minutes? That's crazy! My Ventoy stick with a direct clone to an NVMe does it in like five. Are you imaging over a network or something?

Direct clone to an NVMe" is a pretty specific setup though. In my experience, most people are still working with older SATA drives or doing this over USB 3.0, and twenty minutes sounds about right for that. Your five minute case is the exception, not the rule.

Imagine having that kind of speed, must be nice living in the future.

Guess corap61 is right about most setups being slower.
