Bought a $90 magnesium float on a whim and it's a total game changer for hot pours

I mean, I always used a steel darby but this thing glides over the surface so much smoother when the concrete's setting up fast. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference in finish quality?

That smooth glide is no joke when the sun's beating down. My old crew swore by magnesium tools for years, said they pulled less water to the surface. Watched a guy burn through a whole pour once because his steel darby kept sticking and tearing up the cream. Makes a real difference on those tight deadline jobs.

Magnesium darbies saved our butts on a hospital slab last summer.

We had a huge driveway pour on a really humid day and my steel darby was just dragging. Switched to a buddy's magnesium float halfway through and it was like night and day. The finish was way more even, no sticking or tearing at all. I bought my own the next week.
