Helped a buddy pour a small slab last weekend, his method for bull floating hit different
He just does this slow figure-8 motion instead of the straight back-and-forth I always use, and the surface came out way flatter with less effort. Has anyone else seen guys do it like that, or is this just some weird regional thing?

Heard about this from a concrete guy I follow on YouTube, he swears by the figure-8 method too. Something about how it helps push the aggregate down and brings the cream up more evenly than straight strokes. I gave it a try on a small walkway last month and honestly it was way smoother, less arm fatigue too. Maybe it's just a preference thing, but the results speak for themselves. Idk if it's regional, but my grandpa always did straight passes and his slabs turned out fine. Still, I'm leaning toward trying it more often now.

Wait, your grandpa did straight passes and his slabs came out fine? That kinda blows my mind honestly.

@beng51 probably watched that same YouTube guy and now thinks he's a slab whisperer.
