Just finished my 100th garage slab this year and the number hit me

I was updating my job log last night and saw the count. It's only April, so that's way more than I expected. Most were your standard 24x24 pours, but a few were bigger custom jobs with stamped borders. I guess the new housing development on the south side really kept us busy. Has anyone else had a season start this fast, and how do you keep the quality consistent when you're moving that quick?

That's a crazy amount of work already. When you're pouring that many slabs back to back, what's the one step in your process you absolutely never let slide, even when you're tired or rushed?

What happens if you skip it?

Double-checking the forms, @owens.laura. That's the one.

Keep an eye on your mix every single time, no shortcuts. @garcia.cameron, if you skip checking that, you're asking for a cracked slab or a cold seam later. Mix consistency is the one thing that'll mess you up fast if you're lazy about it. I see guys blow whole pours just because they're in a hurry and don't give it a second look. Save yourself the headache and just do it right the first time. Everything else you can kind of fudge a bit, but not that.
