My uncle in Reno kept telling me to add water to the mix and my stamped patio came out trash
He kept saying the mix was too stiff to work with so I added extra water on a 12x14 stamped job last month and now the surface is chalky and flaking after 3 weeks. Should have just used plasticizer like the young guy on my crew suggested. Anyone else had to tear out a pour because of bad advice from an old timer?

Oh man, I have zero defense here. I listened to him for like a full hour before my brain finally kicked in and went hey, this guy is just making stuff up as he goes. My track record with taking advice is honestly kind of sad, I once followed a guy's tip about covering my plants with foil and killed every single one of them. So yeah, I listened, and I regret it about as much as I regret that foil idea. Some lessons you just have to learn the hard way I guess. Anyway feel free to laugh at me, I've earned it.
