Shoutout to the crew that switched me to power trowels on slabs
Used to hand float every big floor until a job in Tulsa where my knees gave out halfway through a 12,000 square foot pour. Fellow finisher let me run his ride-on for one pass, and I ordered my own that week. Anyone else hold out on power trowels for years, or was I just the stubborn one?

Tulsa was actually the first place I saw a power trowel save a crew's back, so I get the hype, but 12,000 square feet is a big pour for a ride-on if the slab isn't cured right. You gotta watch the timing, because a machine that heavy can sink into a soft surface and leave ruts you can't fix with a steel float. Just saying, your knees took the hit, but your slab might've dodged a bullet that first run lol.
