Skeptical about power trowel blades, now I only buy the expensive ones

I used to grab the cheap blades from the big box store for years, thought they were all the same. Last month I bit the bullet on a set of premium triple-tempered blades for my 36 inch trowel, cost me about $90 more. The difference in the finish was night and day, way less washboarding on a 5,000 square foot garage pour in Tacoma. The cheap ones would start chattering after an hour, these held up through the whole day without any issues. I'm curious if anyone else has noticed a big jump in quality with certain blade brands, or if I just got lucky with a good batch?

Same thing happened to me last spring, the expensive blades paid for themselves in one day on a big slab.

Bargain blades are a false economy, plain and simple. If the cheap ones chip or warp halfway through a job like that, you're losing more time and money than you saved. @ruby_bell47 nailed it, the good stuff earns its keep on the big cuts. Better to pay once and be done than to buy twice and cuss the whole time.
