Switched from a wood float to a magnesium float on a 30x40 slab in Phoenix and I'm not going back
I was fighting the wood float for years on hot days, it kept dragging and tearing the surface before I could get it closed up. The mag float cut my finishing time by about 40 minutes on a 30x40 pour last week in Phoenix, mostly because I could get on it later without the cream drying out on me. Anyone else switch and notice the same thing, or do you still keep the wood one around for certain pours?
Same here, ditched the wood one for good after fighting the same tearing on hot pours. The mag keeps the surface workable long enough to actually close it up before it sets.
