The site super told me to wet cure for 7 days, I thought he was crazy
Back in March on a sidewalk job in Tucson, the super made me set up soaker hoses and wet burlap every morning before I left. I figured it was overkill since we were using a mid-range mix and temps were mild. On day 4 I slacked off and skipped one section, and that patch is the only place that's showing hairline cracks now. He didn't rub it in, just pointed at it during the walkthrough. Has anyone else been burned skipping the full wet cure on a small job?

My buddy runs a crew over in Phoenix and he shrugs off wet curing all the time, said it was for rookies. Last summer he poured a small patio and skipped the wet cure on day two because he wanted to wrap up early, and by fall that slab had a web of cracks that the homeowner made him rip out. He still jokes about it but he's never skipped a wet cure since, even on a damn doghouse pad.
