Warning: Dubai job made me rethink polymer additives
I always skipped polymer mixes thinking they were a waste. A project in Dubai showed me they prevent shrinkage cracks in the sun. Totally worth it now!

Was it the desert sun that changed your mind? I had a similar slap in the face on a job in Nevada where the concrete kept splitting like a dry riverbed. Throwing in some polymer stuff fixed it almost overnight, no joke. It cost a bit more but saved us from redoing whole sections. Sometimes you just gotta eat the extra cost to avoid the headache later.

What happens when those surface cracks go deeper? @the_jamie isn't wrong about avoiding panic spending, but noah_perry95's story shows the value of a real fix. My take? Pay now or pay later. I've watched small issues turn into big money pits because someone tried to save a few bucks. Getting it done right the first time always costs less in the long run.

Heard polymer fixes work best in dry areas... saves redoing later.

Polymer additives aren't always needed for concrete cracks. Many splits are just surface level and won't cause real damage. It's easy to panic and overspend on fixes.
