Hot take: the whole 'flat earth' thing is a waste of time to argue about.
Got into it with a friend at a BBQ last summer. He was all in. I spent maybe six hours over two weeks digging up old navy logs, satellite photos, the works. Showed him a video from a guy who sailed around the world. He just said it was all fake. Felt like hitting a wall. Anyone else just give up trying to convince someone of basic facts?

Been there. Spent a whole afternoon once showing a guy pictures from the space station. He said the windows were just screens. You can't argue with that. It's exhausting.

Wait, he thought the WINDOWS were screens? Like, the actual glass on the ISS? That's a whole new level. I could maybe see someone doubting a photo, but the literal structure? My brain just short-circuited. How do you even start to talk someone down from that ledge?

Respectfully, I gotta push back a little. Some folks just operate on a completely different set of basic facts, and for them the space station windows being screens makes perfect sense in their weird reality. You can't argue someone out of a belief they didn't think their way into. It's like trying to nail jello to a wall. Better to just change the subject to something normal, like the weather or who's winning at football. Save your breath for people who are actually open to hearing you out.

Honestly, I just stopped. My cousin was the same way. I asked him what proof would actually change his mind. He couldn't name a single thing. That's when I knew it was pointless.
