My brother totally flipped my view on the moon landing thing
We were at a cookout in Phoenix last weekend and he asked me, 'If it was fake, why would the Soviets, who were spying on everything, never call it out?' That simple point hit me hard. I'd always just listened to those YouTube videos about the flag waving. But he made me think about the bigger picture and the huge risk of getting caught. Now I'm not so sure about the whole hoax idea. Has anyone else had a moment like that where one question changed everything?

Honestly, that's a solid point from your brother. Tbh, I used to get stuck on the small stuff like the flag too until someone asked me how you fake something for thousands of engineers who all have to keep quiet forever. @hugob96 is right about the scale being hard to grasp. It's like trying to fake the Super Bowl with the other team watching your every play from the parking lot. The Soviets would have loved to prove it was fake, and they had the tech to listen in on everything. That one question about them changes the whole game.

My buddy Dave said the same thing about the Soviets last year in his garage.

Listen, Dave in his garage might have a point, but ray_burns60 is missing the bigger picture. The Soviets had a massive industrial base that was completely redirected after the war, which a lot of people overlook. Comparing that to now ignores how global supply chains actually work.
