Question about a paint shortage theory I figured out

Some customers were convinced the paint shortage was a secret plot. I checked with our supplier and it was just a delay, which felt like a small win. How do you deal with people who always see conspiracies in everyday problems?

Totally get that. I'm guilty of overthinking minor stuff too, just not paint shortages.

But is it really overthinking if the details actually matter? Sometimes people call it that just to avoid doing the work. I've seen projects go sideways over stuff everyone said was minor. Maybe the problem is calling it overthinking instead of just paying attention.
