Question about that $747 conspiracy theory that keeps popping up
I wasted about 6 hours last month digging into that Flight 800 missile theory. Found a YouTube channel that had all these so called proof clips and radar maps. The guy claimed 3 different witnesses saw a streak of light going up before the explosion. After 5 videos and 30 tabs open, I realized it was just the same 1997 NTSB report being twisted around. Anyone else fall for these rabbit holes that just recycle old evidence without any new facts?

Used to wave it off as nonsense myself, but that deep dive into the radar logs and the original NTSB transcripts actually made me change my mind. It's wild how much gets buried or twisted over time.

I remember reading that the NTSB actually spent $40 million on that investigation, so the idea they just buried something seems pretty unlikely to me. All those "shattered wreckage" photos are just what happens when a 747 blows up at 14,000 feet.

Nah, radar logs can look suspicious when you're already looking for something to find.
