Rant: Found a trail cam in the woods near my cousin's place last month that had footage of something weird

I was checking the memory card on this old Bushnell I found behind some bushes off Highway 63 and it had a clip of a big furry thing walking on two legs around 3 AM on a Tuesday, has anyone else run into trail cams being planted in random spots like that?

Oh man, that gives me the creeps big time. I'd bet money someone's using those cams to track game trails or maybe even people's routines, which is way sketchier than just finding a random Sasquatch video.

@the_cameron You're probably right, and now I'm gonna be side-eyeing every tree branch on my next hike wondering if I'm on someone's creep-cam feed. I can barely keep my own trail cam from getting stolen by raccoons, so the idea of people actually coordinating hidden cameras is a whole other level of weird. Makes you wonder what kind of person wakes up and thinks "you know what, let's hide a camera in the woods and watch people walk their dogs.

You really think every hiker with a phone isn't already filming everything? Walk through any popular trail and half the people have their phones out recording nonsense. Hidden cameras are just the same thing but fixed in place. Honestly I'm more bothered by the people who post every single second of their hike online with their faces and locations. At least a hidden cam isn't broadcasting your kid's face to the whole internet.
