Shoutout to the guy at a Denver meetup who broke my whole view on the moon landing in 10 minutes
I was at a small conspiracy meetup in Denver last month when a guy named Marcus pulled out a printed list of Apollo era tracking station logs and started walking me through signal timing from Australia. He wasn't yelling or calling anyone a sheep, just pointed at one page and said the math on the delay didn't line up with what NASA put out. Has anyone here actually looked at those old tracking logs, or is it just me who never heard this angle before?
My uncle ran a ham radio setup out of his garage in Perth back in the late 60s and he swore he picked up Apollo chatter on his rig, which is about 2,000 miles from the tracking station at Parkes. He kept a notebook of the times he heard stuff and the delays, and they never matched the official numbers either. The weird part is he wasn't into conspiracies at all, he just thought his equipment was off or he was hearing something else. When I asked him about it years later he said the math never bugged him, what bugged him was how fast the signals came through some nights versus others. I never looked at those logs myself but hearing your Marcus story makes me want to dig up that notebook.
