The 1980 census map trick that broke my brain
I was digging through old county records in Ohio for a genealogy thing and found a 1980 census map showing a whole neighborhood that doesn't exist anymore, not a single street matches what's there now. Turns out the city renumbered every block after a flood buyout, but nobody updated the legend. Has anyone else found a government document that makes zero sense in the present day?

Man, that map might as well have been written in a forgotten language, honestly. It's like the government just went "surprise, your entire street grid is now a suggestion" and called it a day. I bet if you showed that thing to a current resident, they'd think it was a treasure map to a city that never existed. Probably explains why my GPS still takes me down roads that turn into dirt paths out of nowhere. The real trick would be finding the person who typed that legend up and asking them what they were smoking back in 1980.
