The week my conspiracy board fell off the wall and saved my sanity

Back in 2019 I had this corkboard in my garage covered in string and photos about the JFK files, probably 80 pins holding it all together. One Tuesday a storm blew through and the whole thing crashed down, scattering everything across the floor. I spent that weekend just sitting in the mess, picking up papers and realizing half the connections I'd made were based on dates I'd mixed up. Turns out two of my big 'links' were just the same guy working two jobs, not some deep cover thing. That week I stopped chasing the threads and started reading the actual testimony transcripts, which is way more boring but way more real. Has anyone else ever had their whole web collapse and found it actually helped them think clearer? The string and thumbtacks are still in a box under my workbench, haven't touched them since.

My JFK board came down in 2016 and I found out my "CIA handler" was just the mailman with a similar name.
