Warning: A guy in a moon landing thread told me my sources were trash and it made me rethink how I argue
Six months ago I was going back and forth in a big moon landing thread on here and I kept linking to the same three YouTube videos over and over like that was proof of anything. Someone named RedRover77 replied with a long comment breaking down how two of those channels had already been caught making stuff up, and instead of just calling me dumb he listed actual NASA photo archives and a 2019 paper I could go read myself. I was annoyed for like two days, but then I actually read the paper and realized half my evidence was garbage. Now I try to find the primary source first and I keep it to one good link instead of a pile of weak ones. So here is the debate part: does caring about sources make you better at this, or does it just make you slower to pick a side? Curious what you all think.
