Sub in Grand Rapids handed me his keys and I walked into a flooded basement
I got a call at 6am to check on a house in Grand Rapids because the regular plumber was out with the flu. Walked in and there was 2 inches of water across the whole basement floor, supply line under the kitchen sink had let go overnight. I shut the main, called the homeowner, and spent 3 hours shop-vaccing and pulling wet drywall before he even showed up. He tried to hand me the bill for the sub's mistake but I told him that was between him and the other guy. Any of you carry a spare shutoff valve and flood kit in the van just in case, or am I overthinking it?
