Swore by using a pump sprayer for stain for 3 seasons, borrowed a $15 brush last weekend in Tulsa and the finish came out smoother
So which do you all actually reach for on a fence or deck job, because I am starting to think the brush wins on anything with grain and the sprayer only saves time on pickets?

The brush wins on anything with grain, period, one pass back brushes it in and the wood drinks it even. Sprayer is faster but you still gotta back brush, so I just grab the brush unless it's a whole run of pickets.
