Daylight dimmers on shop lights make a huge difference

I kept fighting glare on my workbench in the garage here in Tulsa until I swapped two of the 4-foot LEDs to dimmable daylight units. The 5000K at full blast was actually hurting my eyes when I did fine sanding, now I drop them to about 60% and the shadows read way better. Has anyone else played with color temp for detail work or am I just late to this?

Ngl, I felt this in my bones. I was doing the same thing with my desk lamp for model painting, and I thought I was just getting old or something. Turns out cranking 6500K right into your face is a fast track to eye strain and headaches, especially after an hour. Dropping mine to like 70% and adding a little warm bias made a world of difference for seeing the actual edges and not just the glare. You're not late at all, I think most of us just deal with the harsh light because that's what the hardware store sells. Honestly, it's a total game changer once you stop treating your shop like a warehouse.
