My old boss used to cut drywall with a utility knife and a straight edge, but after a new guy showed up with a rotary tool, the whole crew switched in a month.

We went from spending 15 minutes per sheet to about 3, and the dust is way less of a hassle, so what's the one tool that completely changed how you do a basic job?

Oh man, a cordless impact driver. I used to fight with screws using a regular drill and it was a whole workout. Now it feels like cheating, zip zip zip, everything's tight and my wrist doesn't hate me anymore.

My buddy Dave tried to build a deck last summer with just a drill. He spent an hour on the first three joist hangers, stripping half the screws. I finally told him about @ward.tara's zip-zip-zip method. He got an impact driver the next day. Finished the whole frame in one afternoon, said it felt like he had superpowers. His deck is still solid, no wobble at all.

Remember how sore your arm got before getting an impact driver?
