My plumber buddy in Cincinnati said his $500 cordless pipe threader is a waste compared to his old manual one, and honestly, it made me question my whole battery tool setup.
He argued that for maybe two jobs a month, the hassle of keeping batteries charged and the tool's weight isn't worth it over the reliable, slower manual tool, so do you guys think we're buying into cordless convenience for tasks that don't really need it?

Wait, he's only doing two jobs a month with it... that's the real shocker. For that little use, the battery thing is a total pain, you're just babysitting chargers. My old man's manual threader is still in his truck after 30 years, never lets him down.

Totally get where @the_hayden is coming from. My cordless drill sat for weeks and the battery was always dead when I needed it. Switched to a basic plug-in model for those rare jobs and it's been perfect. No more hunting for a charged battery. Sometimes the simple tool you can just grab and use is the right one.

My buddy's cordless saw died mid-cut last weekend.
