Old guess-and-check layout vs. laser chalk lines now
I used to snap chalk lines by eyeballing a tape measure and hoping the studs lined up, which cost me an extra hour redoing a header in a Reno kitchen back in 2023. Last month I picked up a self-leveling laser cross-line unit on sale for $140 and it marked every joist bay dead on the first try. Anyone else stuck with the old method for years, and what finally pushed you to make the switch?
