Precision screwdrivers are a scam for 95% of us
I sat through another job last Tuesday where a guy spent ten minutes digging through four kits to find a #1 Phillips when a regular driver and a steady hand did the same thing in half the time. Precision sets have their place for electronics and tiny locks, sure, but half the contractors I see carry them around like a status symbol for the rare occasion they touch a fuse box screw. For rough framing and drywall, they just bend and strip. I got my first set in 2009, used them maybe 40 times in 15 years. Meanwhile the cheap 6-in-1 in my pouch has survived every remodel from Portland to Boise. What jobs actually force you to break out the tiny handles on a regular basis? I keep thinking I'm missing something.
