Why does nobody talk about insulated screwdrivers for live work?
I was wiring a panel in a crawlspace near Austin last week, damp concrete floor and all. Grabbed my regular driver to check a loose neutral, and it slipped. Good thing I pulled back before touching the bus bar, but the shock I felt through the handle was enough. Looked it up later and found out that even basic insulated drivers are rated for like 1,000 volts AC. Cost me $18 to replace my whole set with VDE rated ones. The grip is thicker and a little awkward at first, but I'm not gambling on a single slip again. Has anyone else made the switch after a close call, or am I the only one who rolled the dice for years?

That Austin humidity will humble you fast, same reason I finally bought a backup flashlight for my classroom keys.
