Hit 100 completed freelance projects this week and it changed my view on watermarking

I always thought watermarking was just a hassle for honest clients, but after my 100th delivery I realized only 3 people ever asked for unwatermarked proofs early, so the fear was totally overblown. Has anyone else noticed their anxiety about stolen work drops after a certain number of projects?

oh come on, three people is three too many if they ran off with your work and used it without paying. i had one client take a low-res watermarked preview, photoshop out the watermark, and use it for a whole marketing campaign. never saw a dime. that one bad apple made me double down on watermarks for everything now.
