Always figured concepts were too vague to protect. Then a designer in Austin explained she won a small claims case over a pitch deck she never licensed, and the judge treated her sketches like any other work. Cost me nothing to start adding a simple line to my contracts: concepts stay mine until final payment. How do you all word that clause without scaring off new clients?
