Just realized the one thing that saved my design from a false takedown was a $12 timestamp site
Last Tuesday I got hit with a DMCA claim on a logo I made for a Denver coffee shop back in March, and the guy filing it wasn't even the owner of the shop. I used to think paying for timestamped proof was a waste, because who's really gonna come after a small logo, right? Then I found an old upload with my process files on a dated server and it killed the claim in about 6 hours. Anyone else keep a cheap paper trail like this, or am I late to the party on that?
