Pro tip: the week a client uploaded my logo to 14 different print shops and I found out from a random DM
So a client in Denver stiffed me on a $2,200 logo project back in March, then I found out he sent the final files to 14 different print shops without paying. One of the shop owners DM'd me on Instagram after he saw my watermark still on the mockup. Half the freelancers I know say just send a DMCA to each shop and move on, but the other half say you need a lawyer letter first or the shops won't care. I tried the DMCA route and got 11 of the 14 shops to pull the files in under a week. The other 3 told me they had already printed and it wasn't their problem. So which is it, is the DMCA enough or do you have to lawyer up just to get basic respect?
