Question about clients who claim "work for hire" on a handshake deal in Nashville
Two different singer-songwriter clients in Nashville told me last month that paying my invoice made them the copyright owner from day one, and I keep seeing freelancers fold on this instead of pointing to the actual statute, so how are you all wording that pushback without losing the gig?
