Reverse image search caught my stolen logo 3 years later

A past client in Denver stopped paying me mid-project back in 2019. I wrote off the $500 balance, figured it was done. Then last Tuesday I ran my old portfolio through Google's reverse image search on a whim. Found my exact logo design on a trucking company's website in Nevada. They've been running it since 2021, cleaned up the colors but the shape is identical. I emailed their HR person, attached my original files with timestamps and the unpaid invoice chain. They offered $750 to settle, which I took just to avoid lawyer fees. But now I'm wondering if I should have pushed for a public takedown notice too. Has anyone else had a stolen piece resurface years later and what did you do first?
