Warning: I marked up a $1,200 logo job as a favor and got hit with a takedown notice from a stock site
Was sitting at my desk in Boise last week when I got the email, turns out the client swapped my art for a ripped vector and filed the DMCA claim with my name on it. Everyone says just send a stern invoice, but I filed a counter notice with the platform instead and it got the strike pulled in 4 days, so what do you all do when the client is the one who actually stole something?

Had this happen with a photo gig a while back, client used a watermarked preview I sent them and then tried to blame me when the stock site came knocking. I kept every email and the original files with timestamps, then just handed it all to the platform and let them sort it out. Screenshots of the whole thread saved my ass, so document everything before you say another word to that client.
