Cleaned out my color kit and found 42 empty tubes of the same shade.

I was doing a full inventory before a big job and pulled everything out of my rolling case. I counted 42 empty tubes of 'Midnight Ash', a cool brown I mix for a lot of my regulars. I never realized how much of that one color I go through in a year. It made me see which of my clients are actually my bread and butter, not just the flashy fashion colors. Anyone else have a go-to shade that disappears way faster than the rest?

Like max716 said, it's the basics that stick around, right?

Honestly, I used to think the bright colors were the main draw. Seeing that pile of empties really shows what pays the bills.

Totally get that. My local spot has this whole wall of fancy craft cans, but the bartender told me they move more of the basic lager in a week than all those combined. Makes you look at the menu differently.
