Had a day last month where I did 8 haircuts back to back... then a day where I had 2 no-shows
Last Tuesday I booked 8 cuts between 10am and 6pm, finished every one on time, and walked out with $680. Then this past Wednesday I had two no-shows in a row, sat around for almost 3 hours, and made maybe $100 total. Do you guys find the feast-or-famine rhythm gets worse the longer you're in the chair, or does it smooth out once you build a solid regular base?

Building a regular base helps a little but it never fully goes away. You just trade the panic of no-shows for the panic of being overbooked. Some months feel like you can't catch a break either way. The real trick is figuring out how to fill those empty slots without wearing yourself out on the busy days.

Wait, you're saying it never actually evens out? I used to think it did but starting to see your point.

8 haircuts in one day and you got out on time every single one? That's wild to me. I can barely do 6 without running late by the third one. As for the feast or famine thing, it never really evens out completely. You just get better at predicting which weeks will be dead and which ones will be a grind.
