Had the worst Tuesday of my career - three clients in a row with botched box dye jobs
Last Tuesday I had three people come in back to back, all trying to fix their own dark box dye disasters. The last one was a lady from Cleveland who used a $5 kit from the drugstore and ended up with orange roots and black ends. I spent almost 2 hours just lifting the color without destroying her hair. Has anyone else had a day where it felt like everyone ruined their hair at home the same weekend?

Bet she picked it up at the local Walgreens on a Sunday too. I swear the drugstore dye aisle is a trap. They put those boxes right next to the checkout. You're waiting in line and suddenly you're convinced you can fix your gray roots for six bucks. Reality hits when you look in the mirror at 2am with splotchy patches. That money saved isn't worth the panic that follows.

Oh girl, I feel your pain on that one, orange roots and black ends are the worst combo to fix. Those drugstore box dyes really do a number on hair.

Did you try a color remover before hitting it with the box dye? I've been there myself and honestly that orange-to-black transition is a nightmare that only gets worse if you keep piling more dye on top of it. Sometimes it's just better to let a pro fix it even if it costs a bit more than doing it yourself.
