Remembered the exact same thing happening to me about ten years ago. Kid was maybe 17, fresh out of trade school, and he spotted that I had the hardener ratio off by a couple percent. I was about to spray a whole fender and he just quietly mentioned it, like it was no big deal. Checked the mixing chart and sure enough, he was right. Took me a minute to get past my pride, but honestly I was more impressed than embarrassed. That kind of attention to detail is rare and I told him so right there on the spot. Now I always double check with the younger guys if they look at my mix funny.
