Spent $160 on a pair of shears that were supposed to be "lifetime" and they chipped after 2 weeks

Bought some fancy Japanese shears from a booth at a trade show, thought I was investing in good gear. Now I'm back to my old $40 pair that's lasted 5 years, anyone else get burned by overpriced tools?

$40? Dude that is insane to me. I spent like $200 on a pair of Kenchii shears last year and honestly I still feel like I overpaid. @alext52 how do you get a decent cut out of $40 shears without them pulling or rusting? If you found a pair that works that cheap you gotta share the brand. I would be scared they'd snap mid-cut.

@alext52 Trade show booths have crazy markup, shears usually cost half that online.
